Primer Dia

Yes this is a beer advertisement, but I was just excited to find a CR sign!
Dona Rocio and a tomato!
My room :)
Woke up at 4:15am this morning and right now it is 8:25pm (Costa Rica time- so 10:25pm ET) and boy what a full day I have had!!! Our flights went smoothly and after 5 hours in the air and 9 dollars spent on a small chicken pita sandwich we arrived safely in Costa Rica :) Then after customs, exchanging bills and more customs, we were met outside with our Tico families lined up pressing eagerly against the glass with our names on signs. I wish you could have seen that sight it was SO exciting! My Tico parents, Rocio and Fransisco, had this sign made for me and we chatted all the way home (in Spanish of course). At home I got to meet Yuli (pronounced, Julie-ironic no??) my Tico sister! She, John-Mark and I went to la misa (mass) at their church at 5pm. I learned how to fry some bananas and she's going to teach me more as the week goes on ;) The second picture is of her and a tomato they grow here, it was rather large! Mom, I thought you would appreciate that ;)

I went to bed at 9pm Costa Rica time because I was soooo pooped! I can't wait for more excitement as the weeks go on!

  1. it was so good to hear from you! Love the pic of you and the sign. I LOVE tomatoes so thanks for that yummy looking pic and what a nice bedroom you have! A Costa Rica sister with the same name as your real sister, wild! Did you use your fan last night? I heard it was HOT down there! Julie's Awards Ceremony went well tonight. Miss you!

  3. This is my 4th try. Two are out there somewhere and the third came back to me. Grandpa's got thru. However, I don't know how it happened. Well it great to see you on Costa Rico soil. Pictures were great. It sorta makes us feel included. You have a beautiful room. Learn a lot from your Costa Rico Mother. Like food and receipe. Those orginal receipes are better than copies. Enjoy your day, send more pictures. Love you lots. G&G
