Yuli (top left)- Short for Yulieth (or Julie short for Juliet in English). She is studying at the University in Heredia to be a Special Education teacher. She's very sweet and speaks some English. She usually helps me with my homework!
Papi/Fransico/"Co" (next to Yuli)- He works hard on the farm all day and drives the family around because neither Yuli or Mami drive. After a long day he parks himself in front of the TV watching Spanish soaps and enjoys some well deserved rest. He reminds me of my real dad because he's quiet, but kind and when he talks he's pretty hilarious.
Mami/Rocio (sitting next to me to the right)- She is awesome! Cooks me the best meals (even though I'm not supposed to brag to my friends, I do) and is even teaching me some. She washes all my clothes by hand every day and has them hanging up for me by the time I get home. She puts up with my Spanish errors and is very helpful with my homework and such. She eats breakfast with me and even made me chocolate cake :o. I wouldn't be surprised if I came back 300 lbs.
The rest of the family...
Sylvia (sitting next to Mami)- the oldest daughter of Mami and Papi she teaches at an Elementary school. She is currently 5 months pregnant (their first) and very excited. She knows quite a bit of English and is very smart. Also, very sweet!
Julian (top right)- Sylvia's husband isn't over much because he works far away for a big computer company here owned by Gringos! He and I talked a little about how my dad works in the computer business too and sports. He's very smart and excited about being a dad soon.
Melissa (on my left side)- the middle daughter works in a store in Alajuela Tuesday-Saturday. She's very fun and funny. She invited me to the supermarket with her and her husband and Sylvia the second day I was here :)
Esteban (bottom left)- Melissa's husband works on cars by day and is a huge soccer fan. He's teaching me how to be Ligista (a fan of the team here called La Liga). Stephen is a HOOT and likes to pick on me. Quite the life of the party haha.
What a wonderful family :)
Great picture...now I can match the names with a face. We miss you.
