 Today!

La Clase Verde- Everyone in our class wore green (not on purpose) and Dona Olga told us that in Spanish, verde means green as well as slang for nerd. So she called us the nerds for the rest of the day!

At INBIO (National Institute for Biodiversity) Park

Giant Iguana

Rana = Frog

Luckily, I took this one through glass ;)

Today in class we had debates (totally in Spanish) which were fun! I played the devil's advocate most of the time because we all agreed on pretty much everything we were arguing. After class, we (CUTFs) road in a van to Heredia (about an hour away) to visit INBio Parque. This is a park devoted to maintaining and developing the biodiversity of Costa Rica. There was saw lots of plants and animals as we traveled through the representations of each ecosystem in Costa Rica (rainforest, wetlands and dry forest). The whole thing was 2 hours long and my camera died during the wetlands while we were in the butterfly section...Bummers. After we got back I got to Skype with my family back in the US! It was great because my Tico family got to meet my real family! Although I had to play interpreter because Eric refused to speak Spanish to them, it was really exciting and my Mami (tica) kept telling me how she had only ever met 2 other families of all the people who have stayed with her and how excited she was.
Okay so tomorrow we are headed to Monteverde which is a city in the cloud rainforest of Costa Rica. Meaning the clouds are so low, you pretty much walk through them while in the rainforest I guess...we are going hiking and ziplining and going to a cheese factory? Anyways, I won't be bringing my laptop so you probably won't hear from me until Sunday night. But continue the prayers! They are definitely working because we are all safe and having a once-in-a-lifetime experience here in beautiful Costa Rica.
I love you!
